Transportation in Manila, Philippines

As a capital city of Republic of Philippines, Manila become a dense city. As a big city Manila have many problem, once is traffic jam. In this post we will know about transporation system in Manila to provide a good transportation for it's citizen.

Transportation in Manila divide into some moda, Buses, jeepneys, LRT, and taxis are readily available for use in getting around the city. About 14 percent of the 158,810 km (98,110 mi) of roads in the Philippines are paved, this is in spite of the difficult mountainous terrain.

The most popular mode of transportation in Manila is the jeepney. As the name implies, it is basically a colorful jeep that looks like those used by the Americans during World War II. They have regular stops, as do buses, but will also stop if they are flagged down.

A modern transportation moda is LRT (Light Transit System). This moda is provide transportation in Metro Manila, Capital City of Manila. Metro manila or the National Capital Region (NCR) is the greater metropolitan area of the city of Manila, the national capital of the Philippines. Its residential population of 11,099,800 (2007 estimate) makes it the eleventh most populous metropolitan area in the world and the Second largest in Southeast Asia. However during the daytime its population well exceeds 16 million.[citation needed] Metro Manila is one of the three defined metropolitan areas in the Philippines, the others being Metro Cebu and Metro Davao.

MRT in Manila

The Manila LRT is the first metro system in Southeast Asia, built earlier than the Singapore MRT by three years. The system is not related to the Manila Metro Rail Transit System, or the Blue Line, which forms a completely different but linked system.

This moda is the fastest, cheapest way to go. Because of the fastest and cheapest, LRT become a favourite for tourist on travelling Manila. Metro-Manila, the metropolitan area of the capital of the Philippines is home to some 10 million people. A light metro system (Mass Rail Transit - MRT), which runs mainly elevated, is being developed.

Mass transportation in Manila

There are about 4 line of LRT, LRT 1 to LRT 4. LRT 1 extension south 12km. The first phase stations are named (from Baclaran) Redemptorist, Manila International Airport, Asia World, Ninoy Aquino, Dr. Santos, Manuyo Uno, Las Pilas, Zapote, Talaba, and Niyog.

LRT 2. This line is elevated between Doroteo JosE (LRT 1) to Cubao (MRT 3) in Quezon City, and further on to Santolan in Pasig. It will run along Recto Ave, Magsaysay Blvd and Aurora Blvd.

MRT 3 (popularly called METROSTAR) runs elevated along EDSA (Epifanio de los Santos Ave.) ring road (except Buendia station which is underground). The central section opened on 16 Dec. 1999, the southern section, which connects to LRT 1 followed on 20 July 2000. The total length is now 16.8 km, once the northern section is built the line will be 24 km.

MRT 4 running northeast from Doroteo Jose/Recto into Quezon City connecting with North Ave. Stn. on line 3, with 20 stations have been completed by 2007.

well nice posting there. about philiphine, they dont build subway MRT too aren't they? In indonesia it is also an odd decision to build monorail rather than subway MRT..although as far as i know its only 100 billion rupiahs differance price. so dissapointing. particularly i doubt monorail can solve indonesian traffic jam probs. btw you got nice site with well posting on it, if u have some time, pls visit mine in antiteori blog.it is also written in english, im finding my english blog is has such a less comment rather than my indonesian blog, are u find a some problem here? glad to have your comment. :) regards.

Построить дом можно и своими руками. Но, сказать по правде - это не будет очень быстро, тем более, если у вас нет достаточного опыта. Ввиду отсутствия опыта дом будет строится медленно и возможно допущение определенных ошибок. Лучше доверить строительство профессионалам.
