RI wants balance representation at UNSC

Indonesia wants reforms in the UN Security Council to reflect a balanced representation of the world's diverse cultures and civilizations rather than just the addition of more members, said Indonesian Foreign Minister Hassan Wirayuda on Tuesday.

"Without ensuring balanced representation, the expansion of the Security Council may result in new gaps between developed and developing countries," he said.

Among the most anticipated items on the agenda at the UN's 62nd annual General Assembly that commenced last week is the expansion of the council's membership, both for its permanent and non-permanent members.

The grand expectation for a breakthrough in reforming the Security Council that came during the 2005 UN Summit has lost its momentum and needs a boost, Hassan said.

Simply adding members based on a region would not address the criticisms of the council that suggest it works in favor of its permanent members who possess veto power, he said

"For instance, 1.3 billion people in Islamic countries are not well represented in the Security Council.

"It's about time we have democracy at the international level," he said.

Indonesia - Malaysia relation is have a long story, rais and down. In early Malaysia's history, in 1963, we have conflict and become confrontation, as Sukarno, the First President of the Republic of Indonesia says, Ganyang Malaysia. Both country send their mililtary or para-military force to line border in Kalimantan. Malaysia is hsuported by British, Australian, New Zealand and Commonwealth force by secret. Indonesia send paramilitary force to infiltrate the border line via Tawau, then Sebatik. Many people is dead in this confrontation.

Indonesia is changed, Sukarno, the Great Leader of Ravolution have to retreat.
This confrontation is ended on August 1966. Suharto became a president. Indonesia then have own conflict after 30 September tragedy, that killed 6 General. Indonesia and Malaysia met on conference in Bangkok on May 28, 1966 and signed a peace declaration on August 11, 1966.

I interest on article have writen by Azyumardi Azra, Kompas, Septenmber 5, 2007. He write, we have double standar, ambivalence attitude on seeing Malaysia. One side, we anger with Malaysia, other side we admired. This attitude, said Azyumardi, is tend to stright us as the losser, he called, Pshycology of the Losser.

Losser is Losser, we know all about the losser. The proof, thoug we know, many bad story about TKI in Malaysia, like sexual harashment, chastisement, hurted, many people is ready to go there. They need for higher money.

We have many problem that can trouble the relation of both, ones is labour problem (we call TKI). Malaysian call all Indonesian people that visited Malaysia with Indon, means kuli, labour. Its an unfair attitude, thoug, their goverment always say not to use that name on any publication or newspaper, but the use of indon is not stopping.

We are a great country, we have more people than Malaysia, so it is we have more problem, we have more resources to bring this country modern. So, its not professional if we always angry, moreover plan to sweep many malaysian who visited Indonesia. In This cases, Indonesia's Goverment have to force Malaysia to appreciate us. We have to stand up same with any other nation. Its our task. we have to study hard, work hard
